A Wonderful Tool for Serious Study

In many ways, this Greek New Testament is my dream product. First, to be clear, the hardcover format is the Nestle-Aland 28th edition, not the 27th. Some reviewers were noting this product was the 27th, but it appears that was the Kindle edition. This print edition is the 28th.
The book is a rather odd shade of blue but it makes it distinctive. The cloth binding looks sturdy enough, though I am not sure how the spine is going to hold out with continuous use.
The contents of this Greek New Testament are amazing. Following prefaces on the Greek New Testament and the ESV, the text begins. On the left is the Greek text with a textual apparatus at the bottom of the page. On the right hand side of the page are the exact verses of the Greek side but in the English Standard Version. This makes for an ideal study format, as the Greek can be compared to the English without flipping pages. The textual apparatus is helpful for an at a glance rendering of basic textual variants. The fact that the textual apparatus is there makes for a generous amount of blank space on the right hand side of most pages. This can be utilized for note taking, grammatical observations or even teaching outlines.
The only drawback I can see on this edition is the thickness of the pages. They are much too thin for my liking, so that there is a lot of bleed through from the previous page. Note taking will almost certainly require a pencil or low-volume ink pen, as anything with too much ink will spoil the other side of the page. A paper more like that in the UBS4 Greek New Testament Reader's Edition would have been ideal, but few products have everything. This New Testament is a useful tool I will enjoy in the days to come.

Beware of Kindle Version

The page says Amazon is selling "Greek-English New Testament: Nestle-Aland 28th Edition" published November 2012. However, if you choose to buy the Kindle version, you will be getting the 27th edition. The Kindle page does tell you it is the 27th edition if you go looking for it, it just never occurred to me Amazon would switch books on me. I'm sure the book I got will serve my needs just fine, but shame on you Amazon.

Large font, lots of room for note taking

This is a wonderful format. As someone who likes to write in their Bibles there are three things that make this Bible a note-takers delight: (1) the 1.25+ inch outside margin on the English side, (2) a decent amount of blank space at the bottom of the majority of English pages, (3) single column format. I do wish the paper was a little more opaque, although the page thickness has a nice feel to it unlike some of my study Bibles that are quite thin. Note taking on the Greek side will be difficult because of the Apparatus in the outer margin and of course, the critical Apparatus at the bottom of each page (I've added a photo of one spread with a ruler to give you a better sense of how the layout and spacing looks--it's hard to tell from the preview). The Greek font seems to be identical with my NA27; English font is very readable; the font size seems a lot bigger than most of my other Bibles--which is a plus for me. The cloth cover and binding seem to be above average in quality. When open on my desk, the width is a full 15 inches, so it's a fairly wide Book. After purchasing this book, I am seriously considering the Hebrew-English equivalent.
